PDR BGA Inspection on Sale

AIMEX PAC’s Randy Nelson with the FUJI AIMEX at Electronics Midwest Expo

FUJI unveiled the new AIMEX at the Electronics Midwest Expo in Chicago at the end of September.

The AIMEX is a single unit two module machine.  In each module, a single robot or facing robots can be configured in a 2 robot, 3 robot or 4 robot configuration, depending on production requirements.  Placing heads, the same used by the NXT, are set on each robot to match the size and shape of the respective parts being placed.  Devices are loaded at both sides of the machine for a maximum loading capacity of 180 feeder slots.  The machine supports parts up to 38.1 mm, (1.5 inches) tall.

AIMEX is a high flexibility one machine solution.  Choose the functionality of the placing heads and device units according to the robot configuration, the size of the parts, and productivity required.  A single or double conveyor can be chosen depending on the production type and, the parts camera can be selected from the standard parts camera, the wide view P05 camera, and the sidelight camera which will even check insertion pins.

Additionally, the AIMEX is compatible with NXT units such as placing heads and feeders, so customers can continue to use units they have already purchased for the NXT.

substrate and the surrounding components (even with the high temperatures required for  lead-free alloys). This offers a number of advantages, including:

  • Accessibility for soldering in very small places
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Fast setup (soldering alloy changed in minutes)
  • Automatic program generation from CAD data
  • Direct control and verification of the thermal profile for every single solder joint

The Firefly is also an eco-friendly soldering solution, with low energy consumption and virtually no process residuals.
